Make Your Space Seem Bigger
Today, we’ll be taking you through some tips on how to make your space seem bigger! This tip can apply to not only those who own homes but to those in apartments as well.
Light Palette
A light color palette will often trick the eye into thinking a space is bigger and more airy than it is. Using light colors doesn’t always mean we have to reach for the white paint though. There are plenty of soft colors that make up a light palette and if you do choose to use white, accents would be a great place for it. Color Palette Ideas include: blue, white, beige / green, tan, white / lilac, white, tan.
Prints & Solids
Try mixing small prints and solids. Not only will this make the space seem bigger, but it will create visual interest and create depth.
Sizing
When working with a smaller room, keep in mind that using larger appliances or furniture will make everything seem closed off. By keeping things size appropriate, you’ll maximize your space. In a small bedroom, for instance, stick with a queen sized bed (or smaller) instead of the king, keep your nightstands slim and opt for wall sconces instead of the traditional lamp to save on space.
Curtains
If you have a window in your room, this is an excellent time to utilize long curtains. Hang them a little higher than the window itself and it will draw the eye upward and instantly make the room seem taller.
