Kitchen Organization

Every kitchen should meet the needs and lifestyle of the people that occupy it. Here are six tips to take your kitchen to the next level of organization:

1) Jars

By putting your dry goods inside glass jars or plastic canisters, you’ll be creating uniformity throughout your pantry. You can then choose to display these goods openly along the back counter, in airy shelving throughout the kitchen or tucked inside the pantry. Clear containers also help us keep track of what we need at a glance!

2) Tension Rod

Do you store your cleaning products under the kitchen sink? Create more space by installing a tension rod across the interior of the cabinet. Hang spray bottles, paper towels, rubber gloves or light products on this rack to preserve the space at the bottom for bulkier items.

3) Upper Cabinets

If you have space above your kitchen cabinets, don’t be afraid to utilize it! By adding a few pieces of molding painted to match existing pieces in the kitchen, you add purposeful space for storing extra bowls, plates, or those glass jars we mentioned. Adding greenery is always a nice touch too!

4) Standing Shelves

For cabinets that contain shorter items, consider adding a standing shelf on the bottom to optimize your space!

5) Hooks

Installing wall hooks or hooks underneath the cabinet will free up space previously occupied by coffee mugs and tea cups. Not only does this boost visual interest in the kitchen, it’s also practical. Display those mugs with pride! And why not enjoy a nice cup of coffee while you’re at it?

6) Most Used

Salt, pepper, cooking oil and butter are things we use regularly in the kitchen, so why not keep them in arms reach? Designate a small area of space near the stove for these items so you’ll always have them at the ready!
